He's got what?

I found a flea on Motu and of course this sent me into a tizzy.
Because if Motu gets fleas then the stupid kitties will get fleas and well, it would be ugly.
So Even though I went over Motu with a flea comb and found nothing this doesn't really mean anything because Motu loves to play with homeless peoples' dogs in the park. Don't ask me why you would have a dog if you don't have a home...Needless to say your dog having fleas is not your main concern.
So the other night Jon is like, "kristen come here quick." He is easily skeeved by bugs so I assume he saw something. I go over and Jon gingerly rolls motu over to show me this black thing embedded in Motu's skin.
I laughed and walked away, Dr. Jon had discovered Motu's nipples.
Ha ha.

Air America hits San Francisco

I am so happy to have air america here, finally!
It is on 960 am here. I missed my liberal rhetoric.
it is strange because the lineup is a little different.

Can you believe how amazing Bill Clinton looks? I can't imagine many women who wouldn't give him a BJ now.

Yesterday I was setting up this room divider screen that jon and I had bought in Japantown. When I went to open it up there was all this dust in it. I thought "that is strange, " I took it outside and that was when the realization hit that those were termite tracks and those enourmous black moving things were Singaporian termites.

So I had to take the F'n thing on the bus and get it back to the store and exchange it.

Motu has been making this strange snorting noise. Like the noise he would make if he had swallowed some water or something. He is also sneezing. Maybe he has a cold or ragweed alergies. Do they have ragweed in California?

Flowers for Algernon

I just finished reading Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, published 1966. After appearing in a magazine in 1960
This is one of thoes books I never read in high school. What a super story.
Keyes is a great writer and the premise of the book seems so fresh and novel.

It made me what to re-read some Plato. And that, my friends, is saying something...

La Vida Loca

yesterday I was walking down haight St. And I heard the above song blasting from someone's stereo. I was looking around to see if the person was being ironic or an ass.
Then, as if in a movie, A large truck moved as the light changed, and there was this crazy homeless guy dancing to his boombox. He was spinning and laughing, truely enjoying his vida loca. It gave whole new meaning to the song...

Strip Club

My brothers were in town for the holiday weekend. And surprisingly enough we ended up at a strip club. It was called Showgirls and it was in the Tenderloin.
The ladies toilet was immaculately clean.
And all and all it was more of a gentleman's club than the normal seedy shake joints I have been to before.

I have to say the girls were absolutely beautiful. They were some of the prettiest girls that I have ever seen at a club like that.

Kevin got a lap dance and the girl was going to take him upstairs for a hand release. Is it weird to go to the shake with your brothers? I don't think so, but I don't think I could have taken seeing Kevin grabbing some girls tits and ass. That gets a little too real. You can see him in his "I love to cuddle" t-shirt.

Gentle readers will remember my fiasco of getting stood up by my CL friend. Last Weds I actually met her and Winnie her adorable 6 month old 2 lb yorkie. What a cutie! Motu kept manhandling her, the dog not the girl. Veronica was really nice and I think there is a chance that we could possible have a lot in common. She is really pretty too, which was a relief because I was afraid she was going to be fat. That is incredibly shallow, I don't know why I cared. But there is potential there.

Live Music

I haven't been to a live show in literally 1 1/2 years or more. I am a girl raised on live music and the energy they create.
Admittedly I have become the bittersons. I am jaded, cynical, and well dismissive.
However, the show I went to last Friday reaffirmed my faith in all that is live music.
I was slightly buzzed. Just enough to really relax.
The line-up was Tarentel, Mono and Fly PanAm. A very avant-guard line-up.
I was going because darren had turned us onto Tarentel. They are a swoozy. wall of sound, noise, instrumental group. They were very sweet live. Much better than I ever expected. I would close my eyes and sway to the sounds.
The venue was pretty good too, the Bottom of the Hill in SF.
However, Mono was the best discovery of the night. They are these four Japanese kids, three guitars of varying flavors bass, regular electric and one of those labamba guitars. A Gibson maybe? and a drummer. They were wild. I know the hair on my arms was standing up. They really worked their dramatic crescendos basically noisy, space-out music.
We left 3 or 4 songs into Fly Pan Am. I wasn't really feeling them but they seemed cool. I think they were upstaged by the previous acts. I refuse to call them openers!

I just finished watching La Dolce Vida. Holy Shit that was a long movie. Movies are always listed in minutes yet my dvd played in hours. So I always have to do complex math to try to figure out how long a given movie is. I usually just roll my eyes up to the ceiling and wait for Jon to figure it out while I think about other things. Math is not my strong suit.
So by the second hour I started really trying to figure out 174 minutes.

You can read about the details here:

Anita Ekberg is perhaps one of the most beautiful women ever seen on film. Wowewowe!
